ILACA Summer 2009

In Summer 2009, the Department of English Programs, American University of Armenia hosted a conference “International Language Assessment Conference in Armenia” ILACA

The Conference program consisted of a total of 30 sessions including

plenary talks by internationally renown specialists in linguistics:

Jared Bernstein “Automated Evaluation of Speaking”

James Purpura “Learning-Oriented Approach to Assessing Grammar in Classroom Contexts”

Bernard Spolsky “Modernizing Language Assessment”

and 2 workshop presentations by:

James Purpura “Assessing Grammar”

Baghai Purya “Fundamental Measurement with the Rasch Model”
